Chasing Change: Drama Education, Applied Theatre and the Ecology of Social Change

This lecture will use three different theatre/drama experiences–in a theatre, a high school classroom, and a workshop space–to pose some questions about theatre-makers’ desire for change and the related significance of invoking a cultural response in audiences.
Performing Social Space: Encounters Between Learning, Place and Theatre

This lecture will address the significance of place and space in the processes of learning, and will ask questions about how the ‘social turn’ in theatre, that encourages participation rather than spectatorship, relates to pedagogic practice.
